Frontend engineer and technical lead with 20 years building interactive, high-performance web applications in TypeScript, JavaScript, and React — lately focused on agentic AI and making AI-assisted software trustworthy, with humans in the loop.

About Me

Frontend craft, applied to agentic AI.

I'm a frontend engineer and technical lead with 20 years of experience building interactive, high-performance web applications in TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.

In 14 years at IGT, I worked on more than 200 games, across frameworks spanning Flash, Haxe, JavaScript, and TypeScript as the stack evolved. For more than a decade of that, I developed and maintained Foundry, the shared game framework used by internal teams and third-party studios to build slot, table, and video poker games. Built with React, PixiJS, and TypeScript, it taught me how to design APIs and components other engineers can rely on, and how to keep real-time, animation-heavy interfaces fast and correct across devices.

I also designed and built an AI-assisted UI test automation platform from the ground up: an in-app SDK that exposes game state through a structured contract, a Playwright harness, pixel-level visual regression, and clear diff reports. My guiding rule was simple: AI reads before it writes. Human-verified work comes first, so automation earns trust before it's relied on.

Before IGT, I enhanced a video player used across 150+ websites at Viacom/MTV Networks, including MTV, Nick Jr., and Comedy Central, and was named Best Viacom Developer of the Year. I started my career building Section 508-accessible learning applications for Pearson and Harcourt, and accessibility has stayed part of how I work.

Lately I've been focused on AI. I've completed hands-on training in agentic AI development in multi-agent environments, building projects end to end, from the initial idea all the way to a live website. Along the way I've built AI applications including a RAG knowledge assistant and an Amazon-style shopping chatbot, and I'm exploring how to make AI-assisted software trustworthy, with humans in the loop.

Outside of code, I care about craft, clear communication, and helping the engineers around me grow. I'm based in Manteca, California.

Sanity Tester Tool (“Witness”)

Evidence-first sanity testing for Xray / Jira
in progress ▾

An automated sanity-test agent for QA teams running Xray/Jira test cases against live game builds. It drives the actual rendered scene graph (Playwright/Appium against a PixiJS/WebGL canvas) instead of guessing from pixels, flags ambiguous steps and unresolved preconditions instead of rounding up to a clean pass, and requires human review before any Jira defect is filed. Evidence (screenshot, video, logs) is captured for every run.

IGT Projects

Tools and games built at IGT.

A glimpse of 14 years of platform and game work at IGT — more than 200 games shipped across Flash, Haxe, JavaScript, and TypeScript frameworks. These are proprietary IGT platforms, not public repos — summarized here rather than linked.

MTV Video Player

Video player across 150+ Viacom websites
2009–2011 ▾

Lead engineer at HCL America, client: Viacom/MTV Networks. I enhanced the video player used across 150+ Viacom websites, including MTV, Nick Jr., and Comedy Central — supporting on-demand and live streaming, ads, localization, and social sharing. I also brought HTML5 media playback to mobile web apps and built game-services SDKs for leaderboards, challenges, and scores. Named Best Viacom Developer of the Year.
